Summary Odin's Eye grants Thor one question. Thor asks what Odin meant by not killing him a second time. The Eye shows him what has befallen Thor, or rather what he can remember of it, right back to his birth. To know more Thor passes a mental barrier. Afterwards he is shown visions of the old Asgard of myth including Ragnarok and the destruction of Asgard after which nine surviving Gods step from the mists, including the elder Balder.
Comments Beginning of the reconciliation of the old Norse myths and Marvel's Asgard.

Summary Odin's Eye shows Thor the origin of the new Asgard. Thor's hammer is thrown to Earth where it becomes the Rhinegold. The nine Elder Gods find Gungnir and magically combine to become Odin, who then creates the new Asgard. He then craves a son and goes to Earth. The Eye doesn't show more. The story then switches to earth and the theft of the Rhinegold by Alberich and Odin's pact with the Storm Giants to build Valhalla.
Comments The creation of Marvel's Asgard. The start of the Ring Saga, based on Wagner's operas.

Summary The Gods battle with the Storm Giants over Idunn. Alberich turns the Rhinegold into the ring and transforms himself into a dragon. But is defeated and Odin takes the ring, giving it to the Storm Giants for Idunn. The giants fall out and Fifnir swears revenge on the Gods.

Summary The Eye shows Thor a warrior like himself on Earth called Siegmund, there to acts as Odin's behalf without breaking his vows. The Gods squabble and decree that Siegmund must die and Brunnhilda is dispatched. She cannot do it, and protects Siegmund. Odin, acting through another, slays Siegmund.

Summary For her disobedience Brunnhilda is placed upon a burning mountain. Another warrior is born, called Siegfried, raised by an evil dwarf in the hope of winning the ring for him. When young and strong and using Odin's sword he is persuaded to face Fafnir.

Summary Siegfried gives Brunnhilda the ring and she uses the last of her power to protect him. Meanwhile a plan is hatched to ensnare them by Hagen. Siegfried is given a love potion and falls for Gutruna and is tricked into fetching Brunnhilda for Gunther. He denies Brunnhilda but has the ring, After a battle with Gunther's guard a truce is called and more plans hatched.

Summary Odin's Eye completes the story. Hagen kills Siegfried and he is sent to his funeral with the ring. Brunnhilda joins him. The whole of Thor adventures in mortal guise was a plot by Odin to rid the Gods of the curse of the Niberling. Realising his failure Odin pins himself to the World Ash. The Celestials arrive and he frees himself and consults Mimir, who tells him of the judgement. The Gods meet and promise not to interfere for a millennium. Odin creates the Odinsword from the Rhinegold and the Destroyer for the final fight. Having learned all this Thor departs for Asgard only to find the Gods lifeless. Mimir tells him they have gone to fight the Celestials. The Uni-Mind and the Destroyer, powered by all the Gods of Asgard and armed with the Odinsword, break into the Celestial's dome and confront them. Thor joins the battle but the Destroyer is vanquished. Enraged, Thor fells Arishem with the Odinsword, but to no effect and the sword is destroyed. All appears lost but Mother Earth appears and offers the Young Gods for the Earth. The offer is accepted and the judgement is given, Earth is to live. The Celestials depart.

Summary The spirit of Earth, last of the Elder Gods, comforts Thor and explains what has occurred and how the Young Gods came into being. Thor encounters the Eternals only to find Zuras slain. Thor sets off to visit each pantheon of Gods and collect the power needed to resurrect Odin and the Gods of Asgard. Vishnu refuses and Thor battles him for a portion of the power of the Hindu Gods. He wins and returns the Asgard and uses the life force stored in his hammer to resurrect Odin, who restores life to all the Gods.
Comments Includes a long recap of the previous story arcs. Zura dies.
