Issue 1 The Day of the Gods 17 : 1/6

Summary Dr. Damian and his daughter Margo are led by the mysterious Ike Harris to an ancient Inca building. Ike tells of how the Space Gods have visited Earth and accelerated evolution, creating three races: Deviants, humans and the Eternals. Meanwhile the Deviant Kro is sent by Tode to stop the Cosmic Beacon being activated. He is too late. Ike reveals himself as the Eternal, Ikaris. After a brief scuffle, all three races await the return of the Gods.
Comments The start of Kirby's epic creation and the first time we learn of Earth's hidden past. First appearnace of Dr. Damian, Margo, Ikaris, Tode and Kro.

Issue 2 The Celestials 17 : 2/6

Summary The Celestials ship lands and Kro voices defiance. Energy blasts fill the air and send everyone running. The Deviants return to their ship and leave. Ikaris explain how the second visit of the Celestials was the downfall of the Deviants. Ajak is resurrected to make contact with the ship. The first Eternal descends: the mighty Arishem. Earth is to be judged over the next fifty years.

Issue 3 The Devil in New York 17 : 3/6

Summary More Celestials emerge from the ship and Ikaris reveals that the area is about to be sealed for fifty years. Dr. Damian decides to stay within the dome. Ikaris takes Margo away in a plane. Kro promises to defeat the Celestials by attacking the humans in the guise of space devils and goading them into attacking the Celestials. Margo's plane is attacked by Kro in a Deviant aircraft and Ikaris reveals the extent of his powers. They go to New York and he gives Margo over to the protection of Sersi. The Deviants begin their attack on New York.
Comments First appearance of Sersi, spelt Sersy for this issue.

Summary Ikaris gives battle to the devil-like Deviants and is rendered unconscious by a Brain Mine. He is imprisoned in a capsule and dropped at the bottom of the sea, since he cannot be killed. Sersi defends Margo against the Deviants and opens communication with the home of the Eternals: Olympia.

Summary Whilst in contact with Makarri in Olympus, Sersi is overpowered by Deviants. Sersi and Margo are taken to the Deviants main ship off New York. Makarri runs to Zuras, the leader of the Eternals, with the news He and Thene are sent to New York to rescue them. Kro encounters the Chief of Police, who stands up to him. After defeating large numbers of Deviants, Makarri and Thene spy Kro with the police and go to get some answers. Meanwhile, the military authorities learn of the Celestial's arrival.
Comments First appearnace of Mekarri, Thene, Domo and Zuras.

Issue 6 Gods and Men at City College 17 : 6/6

Summary Makarri and Thene confront Kro. He reveals his plan and a truce is called, he believes he has done enough. Sersi and Margo are released and Sersi demands the release of Ikaris. The Eternals decide the humans must know what is going on and Margo suggests using Samuel Holden to help. The Eternals and Kro meet representatives of the authorities, after which they are presented at City College. Meanwhile SHIELD agents encounter the Celestial Gammenon.
Comments Final part of the initial story run which introduces the Eternals, Deviants and the Celestials. First appearance of Gammenon.

Issue 7 The Fourth Host 17 : 1/1

Summary Dr. Damian and Ajak witness Gammenon returning from gathering samples. He gives them a capsule. Ajak reconstructs the three SHIELD agents captured within it. The agents are suspicious and aggressive. Ajak explains about the three previous visits of the Celestials. The agents are unconvinced and their leader throws a miniature nuclear bomb at Tefral, to little effect. The Celestials gather and a beam of energy descends from the mothership, engulfing them and dispelling them across the globe. The agents are imprisioned again.
Comments First named appearance of Jemiah and Tefral.

Summary Tode sits in judgement on Reject, sentencing him to trial by combat. In New York, Kro renews his acquaintance with Thene and persuades her to accompany him to the Deviant's underwater city: Lemuria Here Thene disapproves of the Purity Time. She meets Tode at the Royal Court where Reject is prepared for deadly combat with Karkas.

Summary Ikaris, Margo and Mekkari approach Olympia, being met by the trickster Sprite. Across the world the Celestials appear, causing consternation. In Lemuria Reject battles and defeats Karkas and then the guards. Eson approaches the city and, on being attacked, draws the energy out of the city which removes the protective force-field between the Royal Court and Reject.

Summary Eson breaches the defences of Lemuria and reaches into the city, absorbing all the information he needs. Zuras employs the Link-Up to probe the Celestial mothership, he learns the purpose of the Fourth Host. He sounds the Unifier to call all Eternals to Olympia. In Lemuria Thene subdues Reject. She takes Reject and Karkas with her to Olympia to save them, seeing something noble in both of them, leaving a distraught Kro.

Summary Eternals from all over the world gather. Ikaris brings Margo and Sersi brings Holden. Zuras calls for the assembled Eternals to form the Uni-Mind. Meanwhile the Russian authorities argue about what to do. Failing to impose peace, a party of Russian officers leave and reveal themselves to be Polar Eternals. Arriving in Olympia they scuffle with the Delphan Brothers. The Russians launch a nuclear missile against Nezzar, believing its course reversed they suffer heart attacks. In reality the missile was never launched.
Comments Introduction of the Polar Eternals.
