Returning to the capital in triumph Conan is stalked by a curse. Amytis tells him of a priest who will lift it. Conan obtains a charm and battles the were-creatures before discovering his real enemy is Naim-Bey, who he leaves to the creatures and rides away, deserting Turanian service.
