Summary After rescuing Zephra, Conan is recruited by Zurkala to help stop the agents of the Queen of Chaos resurrecting the Green Goddess, whose tomb was sent here from another dimension. Conan meets Elric and they journey to the tomb together, defeating the Chaos Pack sent to stop them.
Comments The book briefly goes bimonthly due to poor sales reports. Features Elric from the stories of Michael Moorcock.

Summary Conan and Elric arrive at the tomb of the Green Goddess and battle the Chaos Pack set by the Queen of Chaos. They fail to stop the resurrection spell being cast. Zephra becomes the host for the Lords of Law and defeats the Green Goddess, dying in the process.
Comments Barry Smith leaves title for the first time. Features Elric from the stories of Michael Moorcock.

Summary Conan survives a bloody battle between Aesir and Vanir, and a mysterious woman goads him into chasing her. After defeatng two frost giants he catches her and she disappears having appealed to her father to rescue her. Conan awakes clutching a scrap of her clothing.
Comments Adapted from the REH Conan story The Frost Giant's Daughter. Out of sequence reprint of Savage Tales #1, takes place around #1. Includes pre-Conan story Sword and the Sorcerers by Roy Thomas and Bary Smith from Chamber of Darkness #4.

Summary Pirates capture Conan but the boat is lost and Conan and Fafnir are shipwrecked on a mysterious island. Here they rescue an woman exiled from the city of Bal-Sagoth and worshipped as a living Goddess. They return with her to the city and Conan defeats the champion of the king and reinstates her.

Summary Conan and Fafnir are attacked by demons summoned by the high priest, whom they defeat. Spurned by Conan, the Living Goddess turns on them and they fight their way out of the city and escape the island, as a volcano beneath the city erupts and destroys it. They are picked-up by Yezdigerd and recruited into the Turanian army.

Summary Conan and Fafnir join the attack on Mekkalet, which is checked by seemingly invincible warriors conjured by Kharam-Akkad. Conan breaks the spell and Fafnir is wounded. Sorely bloodied they retreat.
Comments Barry Smith returns. Only half inked, the rest reproduced from pencils only.

Summary Conan joins a night raid on Makkalet to retrieve the Living Tarim. Entering the temple the party is attacked by a monstrous hound, Conan defeats it and escapes. Returning to the ship he finds that the wounded Fafnir has been thrown overboard. Outraged Conan kills the culprit and jumps ship, wounding Yezdigerd in the process.
Comments Yezdigerd's scar and hatred for Conan date from this incident.

Summary Arriving in Makkalet Conan is taken to the royal court and sent to enlist aid for the city. The party stops to perform a ritual to a loathsome God and Conan is betrayed. He escapes sacrifice and, the rest of the party now dead, continues the mission alone.
Comments Adapted from the REH story The Black Stone. Some pages were only rough outlines by Smith and finished by Craig Russell and Val Mayerick.

Summary Conan delivers the message asking for help to the king of Pah-Dishah and heads south. Mikhal Uglu arrives in the Turran camp and is charged to kill Conan. He heads after him and Conan is forced to flee back to Makkalet where he is betrayed and captured. He is rescued by Red Sonja and kills Mikhal Uglu.

Summary Sonja enlists Conan's help to steal a serpent tiara from a tower in the royal palace. It transforms into a huge serpent, which they battle and Conan kills. Sonja then deserts Conan and rides back to Pah-Dishah.

Comments Inspired the REH story The Mirrors of Tuzun Thune. First published issue with art by John Buscema. John Severin inks the Kull flashback.

Summary The Turans discover a hidden cave leading into Makkalet and open the gates. Conan escapes, rescuing the Queen and Chumballa Bey in the process. The Living Tarim is revealed to be a drooling imbecile and is killed during the fighting. The King is also killed and Conan and Queen part ways, leaving Makkalet to Yezdigerd.
Comments The final part of the Tarim war story.

Summary Conan rescues a girl from assault by Turgohl, the fight interrupted as they flee the Turan army to a castle of brigands. The leader shows him a fabulous jewel. Conan is betrayed by the girl as the various factions fight for the jewel. The girl is killed, Conan is rescued by Turgohl and the pair escape, Conan lets him keep the jewel.

Summary Attacked by a reptilian monster Conan is trapped in a bog. Thutmekri, transporting a stolen idol, leaves him to his fate. Conan escapes and swears revenge. He discovers the party attacked and learns of the revenge of the idol's worshippers, who summon a monstrous ape and plan a human sacrifice. He defeats the creature and rescues the girl.
